Kheiry Sammakieh

Kheiry Sammakieh was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He moved to London with his family when he was only one and half years old to escape the worsening civil war – what was meant to be a  temporary situation slowly became permanent – he still lives in London where he is an investment banker working for Barclays Capital.

Since the recent war in Lebanon in 2006, he has been heavily involved in raising funds and awareness for worthy causes there. He has since launched an initiative called Climb 4 Lebanon – where he uses the medium of mountaineering to raise much needed awareness for charitable causes in Lebanon. He hopes to one day publish a book based on the detailed journals he has kept of his expeditions.
